‘Grey’s Anatomy’ season 10, episode 5 preview: Ellen Pompeo and Meredith – Cristina tension
Are we about to see a fight between Meredith and Cristina on “Grey’s Anatomy” season 10? It may still be a little too early to go this far, however what we can say for the time being is that Sandra Oh’s character is not going to be particularly on board with the idea of Ellen Pompeo’s Dr. Grey not only stepping back in after a brief maternity leave, but also trying to take on some difficult patients.
Could you see Cristina’s behavior here as evidence of some sort of clear anti-children bias? Well, she has already made it clear many times how she feels about having children herself, and it is hardly that unreasonable to think that she would carry some of this sentiment over to other areas. She wants to be the one to handle these difficult situations, whether you are talking about transplants or other procedures for the time being, and the conversations descends into a few dirty looks.
At the end of the day, a point will come when Meredith and Cristina have to trust each other fully here again, and that day will come. The rest of this season is not going to be the angry glare-off between these two characters, mostly because there is no way that this would be remain interesting. Also, this is the last season for Sandra, and Shonda Rhimes is not going to be so cruel as to have the two characters end their journeys on negative terms. Yes, she may be willing to kill off a whole mess of people, but isn’t that a little bit different? Plus, she seems to view the original cast members as something sacred, and has already said that the plan here is to give the Cristina character the closure that fans have been hoping for since she first arrived on the scene.
What is also important in this episode? Getting the opportunity to find out more about Alex’s story, whether you are talking about his father or his relationship with Jo. There will be a little bit more to share on this subject over the coming days.
