‘Grey’s Anatomy’ season 10, episode 4 review: Owen moves on, Alex’s dad arrives in #200
For any TV series, 200 episodes is an achievement worth celebrating, so what better way is there to do so other than having some sort of swanky party? Of course, the one thing that we have learned about “Grey’s Anatomy” is that when you are a show about a hospital, there really are no days off. There are only little distractions where you start to think that your life is normal.
So when we saw all of the doctors of the Grey-Sloan Memorial Hospital trying to support their institution at a fundraiser, everything seemed at first to be right with the world. Then, slowly some of the layers started to peel off, and we no longer had a scene that was stuffed with happy memories.
1. Let’s begin with the sole fact that Owen seems to be moving on from Cristina, or is at least talking with other woman and showing a romantic interest. This has to be painful, and maybe it’s a reason why she is going to leave in the end. This was a moment handled perfectly since it showed that no matter what sort of exterior Cristina puts up, these things still continue to get to her.
2. The performer getting injured caused the end of the fundraiser, and it was ironically Callie’s work after that when we saw the donations come in. So all in all, the event was a success, but not a particularly happy one.
3. After episodes of fighting and at times looking like he really did not have any intentions of actually trying to fight for his life, Chief Webber decided at the tail end of this episode that he was actually going to show that he wanted to be on this earth. So he is finally on the mend for real, and all signs are pointing in a good direction.
4. Also, Alex’s father is now on the scene after he tested one of the junkies that came in to the hospital. You better believe that this is going to open an enormous wound, and the story is not over yet.
