‘Glee’: Cory Monteith tribute ends with Matthew Morrison – Jane Lynch PSA on addiction
Traditionally, new episodes of “Glee” end with what is a cheery, energetic promo for the episode that is coming up ahead. But following this extremely-emotional episode entitled “The Quarterback” tonight, and with no new episodes coming up until November 7, Fox decided to understandably use a different approach.
After the end of the episode (which you can read about here), series stars Matthew Morrison, Jane Lynch, and Kevin McHale took center stage for a public-service announcement about drug and alcohol prevention, including a phone number that you could contact if you needed help trying to deal with some of these problems. It was done in a way that was tasteful, and also in an attempt to help others who were suffering from the same thing that Cory Monteith suffered from in life. On the actual show itself, there was no mention as to how Finn died, with the reason for that simply being that there was no desire on the part of producers to try and make the episode all about that rather than celebrating the man that the Finn character was.
As for when you can see some footage from “A Katy or a Gaga,” which is the next new episode of the show, you may not have to wait very long at all. We do have the promo for you on that as well, but it will be in a future article as we don’t want to take away from what we really want to focus on here.
As always, stay tuned; we will have some more “Glee” news as it breaks. There is still quite a bit of story left to tell, but we do hope this episode serves as some source of healing for everyone who has been going through quite a bit thanks to this tragic event.
