NBC’s ‘Community’ season 5 spoilers: ‘Criminal Minds’ star Paget Brewster guest-starring
The great news for “Community’ season 5 just keeps coming. The show has already booked some iconic stars from the likes of “Firefly” and “Breaking Bad,” and now you are getting a woman who was at one point a staple of “Criminal Minds” over on CBS.
In a post on Twitter, Paget Brewster confirmed that she will be shooting an episode of the NBC fan favorite next week, though declined for the time being to say just what her role during the hour would be. This does continue a trend over the years of dramatic actors landing some sort of role on the show. You have Jonathan Banks on the series this year, and back during the third season, Michael K. Williams from “The Wire” also had a significant recurring role. Brewster could be a fun addition, depending of course on just what the role she has on the show.
The challenge for “Community” moving into season 5 is massive, and the good news here in some ways is that those associated with the show know it. Dan Harmon is well aware that most people out there are not fans of what happened during season 4, and now that he is back on board running the show, he has to turn that around and get people excited again. The one bit of good news for him? He may get an opportunity to have these episodes air by early next year. The premiere ratings for “Welcome to the Family” were a dud (as predicted by many), and “Community” could be back in its old timeslot once again soon in an effort to fight “The Big Bang Theory” (we still wonder what the show could do without that sort of burden).
What do you think about Paget joining the show? Be sure to share your thoughts below! Meanwhile, click here if you do want to read more news on the glorious addition of Nathan Fillion.

I like all the names coming on board. Season four wasn’t that bad. At first I wasn’t liking them, but I think they have gone down in history. The puppet show was great! Inspector space time, with Jeff as the Loraxis ‘Bow before Loraxis”, some of the phrases are classic, invisible dogs. That bow tied it self, winger knots, square, delta cube, ” I know about your nose job Lenard, it was a lateral move”, People need to get over the fact that season four wasn’t written by Dan Harmond and realize that there was still some good stuff in season four. After all, they did find a way to make paint ball cool again. Seeing Jason Alexander with hair was a shocker. Learning that Shirley left her kids at the grocery store, Britta doesn’t vote, except for reality tv, Annie let Cornwallis rub her feet, for answers to a test, and learning that there is a difference between paint and puffy paint— all things important to the growth of the characters
