‘Nikita’ season 4 lands premiere date for final six episodes
“Nikita” fans, the wait is almost over. Even though there may still be over a month and a half to go until the final six episodes debut on The CW, at least the show is no longer floating around in space, desperately waiting for its spot.
The network confirmed today that season 4 will premiere on Friday, November 22, which is exactly six days before Thanksgiving and not exactly the sort of time in which you traditionally see a show coming on the air. With this, it’s therefore clear just what The CW is doing: Burning off the remaining episodes just so that there is something to air in what are dead times for programming. You can expect the show to air on every Friday the rest of the year at that point, and will come to a close two days after Christmas on December 27.
You can complain about the choice of air date all you want, but we cannot complain too much given that the show is lucky to really have these final six episodes at all. The ratings have never been great, and from a budget perspective you have to believe this costs more than some other shows that are on the network already. The show will air at least in part after “The Carrie Diaries,” though we can’t imagine there being that much of a crossover audience there given just how different the two shows are save for maybe having female leads.
“Nikita” at least continues a recent trend by the network to try and give proper endings to shows that most fans have invested a long span of their time into. They did something similar previously with “Gossip Girl,” and “90210” is the only series recently to suffer without much of anything after being on the air for several years. (They were told in advance, but were unable to provide the ending desired in the amount of time they had.)

Nikita deserved to be treated better by The CW. It’s always been the show that never really “fit” the network since its 2010 debut. It was definitely the oddball of the lineup.
I was hoping that with the air date, the show would air on a Mon-Thur slot(being that their other shows will certainly be on hiatus). But this shows exactly what you said and it’s sad to see this show being burned off like it never was anything.
I hope the cast never returns to the network(The CW loves to recycle actors-Katie Cassidy, Justin Hartley, Matt Lanter etc.), especially the extremely talented Maggie Q! She deserves better!
