While “The Originals” is set to unveil itself tonight on The CW, you are going to have to wait at least a little while longer before seeing just where Claire Holt’s character of Rebekah is ultimately going to enter the mix. The only female vampire top-lining the show, she is someone who will be spending at least the premiere week gallivanting around Europe with Matt on “The Vampire Diaries,” and then find herself being pulled towards New Orleans, which is the setting for this show.
While it is fair to assume that Rebekah’s siblings in Elijah and Klaus are a big reason for the sudden transition from one show to the other, there will be a little bit more at play here with that. After all, executive producer Michael Narducci recently teased the following on the subject to TVLine, and it gave us a pretty good sense as to just what we can expect to see:
“She will get involved, and more importantly, she will have reason to get involved very soon. And not perhaps the reason you might expect. Not the baby reason. Other reasons, one which is deeply personal to her and one that is shocking.”
Tonight’s episode will showcase many of the same events that you first witnessed during the pilot episode, but the beauty of it here is that they are going to be told from a very different perspective in Elijah’s. This will allow for us to see a separate side of things that unfolded and also some characters that did not receive much in the way of screen time.
