‘Ink Master’ season 4 official; Spike TV also renews ‘Tattoo Nightmares’ for 2014

Ink MasterFor those of you who love tattoos, you are going to love this news: After once again drawing strong ratings and a loyal fan following, Spike TV has renewed both “Ink Master” and “Tattoo Nightmares” for another season, which will debut at some point in 2014. While the tattoo competition show will have another batch of 13 episodes, “Tattoo Nightmares” will be back with a whopping 26 more stories all about bad tattoos.

In a statement released by the network today, Executive Vice President of Original Series Sharon Levy had the following to say:

“Ink Master and Tattoo Nightmares have been great performers for Spike TV and have helped propel the network to its highest rated quarter with adults in four years. These two series showcase tattooing as the incredible art form it has evolved into and are emblematic of Spike’s new direction as we’re appealing to a broader audience with compelling original programming.”

“Ink Master” is currently on pace to have its most-watched season yet, which is an even larger achievement when you consider that a good percentage of it aired during the busy summer months. We’ve been covering the series ever since the first season, and for that reason, we’re thrilled to be around for more tattoo talk in the future.

We’re still in the process of writing about “Ink Master” season 3 as it approaches its conclusion, and we have some resources to check out if you’re a fan:
