‘The Good Wife’ season 5, episode 2 preview: Take a look ahead

Drama. People taking their clothes off. Someone trashing Alicia’s desk. These are some of the highlights that you can see below in the first promo for the rest of “The Good Wife” season 5. With Alicia leaving Lockhart Gardner, and her potentially set to take all of her old clients with her, you know that there are plenty of reasons to be intrigued about the story that is coming your way for the rest of the season.

Before we do anything else, why not start with the synopsis for next week’s episode? It looks to be a pretty good one, especially since we are looking at seeing a little bit more of Alicia’s mother:

“Alicia and Cary sue the NSA on behalf of search engine Chumhum, unaware that Lockhart/Gardner’s connection to a former client has resulted in the spy agency monitoring the firm’s communications. Meanwhile, Alicia’s mom takes steps to support her daughter, and Eli works to secure Diane’s Supreme Court nomination.”

If the trajectory continues from the premiere tonight, there are plenty of reasons to be excited. Last year stumbled out of the gate with the whole Kalinda / Nick storyline, and we still believe that this is one of the primary reasons why the show was not a major force to be reckoned with in terms of Emmy contention. That may very well change this year, as there is no storyline glaring at us that is questionable in nature, and that we want to see drift off quickly into the sunset.
