‘Girls’ season 3: Lena Dunham appreciative of ‘Saturday Night Live’ parody

The latest -Whenever you have a major show or a person who is the target of a “Saturday Night Live” skit, there is a little bit of nervousness that comes with it. Why? There is simply no guarantee that they are going to find anything that you say about them funny, and there is also the slight chance that they even get offended and pout over it. (The Kardashians are one group that really did not seem to appreciate being made fun of.)

So did the creator of “Girls” appreciate being spoofed in a bizarre, hilarious video that featured perfect takes in particular on Jessa and Shoshanna? As someone who hails from New York City these days, Lena Dunham understands the purpose of the show; luckily, she also seems to appreciate being made fun of from time to time. In a series of posts on Twitter after the bit aired, she said the following:

“The SNL parody of Girls was a true honor … Very excited about the current lineup of SNL ladies. They are funny like whoa.”

Dunham is right about the ladies right now; given that there are so many new male cast members following the exit of some of the other popular ones, the likes of Kate McKinnon, Cecily Strong, and Vanessa Bayer are going to help to usher in a new generation of viewers. While we may have missed the likes of Bill Hader and Jason Sudeikis last night, we like to think that what we did have with the show more than made up for it.

If you want to see all of the highlights from this week’s “Saturday Night Live,” including the video for the “Girls” spoof, you don’t have to look any further than the link here. Of course, we will also be back soon with some more news related to the show.
