‘Mad Men’ season 7: Jon Hamm on November production date, awkward stares, and more
For those of you “Mad Men” fanatics, the wait to find out some more details on the arrival of the show’s seventh season is over. Based on what series star Jon Hamm said last night on “Jimmy Kimmel Live,” you can at least expect the man behind Jon Draper to start filming some more scenes soon.
In the interview, Hamm told the late-night host that production on the new episodes is going to be coming up in November, and that the bushy beard that he sports both in this chat and at the Emmys themselves recently is a product of laziness rather than any real attempt to grow it out for a role. Apparently, there is also a certain technique that has to be done in order to keep your beard looking like this, and not something that is straggly or terrible.
Also in the videos below, you can see Hamm talk a little bit about tabloid rumors surrounding his possible “death,” hosting a party for frequent Emmy losers such as himself, and even a staring contest involving a woman in Jimmy’s audience. Was this incredibly awkward? Sure, but Jon seems to be game for just about anything. “Anything” also apparently includes a bout of pizza-tasting, since we also see that below. (Hamm does a good job of standing up for his hometown favorite.)
As you also probably know by now, “Mad Men” is going the way of “Breaking Bad,” at least when it comes to having a season divided in half. Want to hear what Elisabeth Moss has to say about this move? Be sure to head over here, and we will have some more scoop on the show soon.
There is no premiere date just yet for “Mad Men” season 7, but we expect the show to launch come the spring.
