‘Criminal Minds’ season 9, episode 1 preview: Thomas Gibsons’ Hotch questions future (video)

Are you ready for the “Criminal Minds” season 9 premiere? It has been a very long time since the show came to an end in May, and we have a sneak peek below that gives us at least a little bit of a sense as to what is coming up ahead.

In this video, we specifically see what Hotch (Thomas Gibson) is going through as a result of what happened with the Replicator at the end of last season; with no other acting boss at the moment, he is basically being forced to do double-duty handling multiple jobs. Just when you thought that one job was rough enough within the BAU, just add something that can be best described as a mountain of paperwork. We feel for Hotch for going through that, but he has to make a decision here pretty soon: Does he continue along with this new responsibility, or decide instead to stay doing what he has over the past several years?

While he bides his time, Hotch makes it clear in the video that he did ask to have the job posted; at least this way he can figure out a little bit better as to whether or not he wants the job, and they can also find out who some of the other top candidates are. For the time being, we’re not going to spoil what exactly happens here; instead, what we will say here is that there’s an interesting story ahead that takes the BAU to Arizona to take on a particularly dangerous UnSub.
