‘The Mindy Project’ season 2 spoilers: Kendra Wilkinson booked for guest spot
You already know that the likes of James Franco, NBA star Kris Humphires, Glenn Howerton, and many others are going to be stopping by “The Mindy Project” season 2 for some guest-starring roles. So who is the latest person joining this list? It’s someone who is a little bit more known as a Hugh Hefner ex and reality star than someone who appears regularly in sitcoms: Kendra Wilkinson.
Speaking to Us Weekly in a new interview, Mindy Kaling was the first person to confirm the news while at the red carpet at the Primetime Emmy Awards in California:
“[It’s a] funny little part and my friend Jeremy wrote [it] … A really funny script and she’s in it!”
Kaling has been very active recruiting various actors to appear on her show, with one of the simple reasons for it being that she wants to do everything in her power to improve the show’s buzz and potentially also its ratings. Despite having Franco in the premiere, it was still the lowest-rated show on Fox’s Tuesday-night lineup. While you could blame this simply on the premiere being made available online a little bit earlier than the rest of the season, there is not going to be any excuse if it comes out and struggles again against a much higher level of competition, which includes “The Voice” along with “NCIS: Los Angeles” and some new comedies airing on ABC following “Agents of SHIELD.”
In addition to starring on “The Girls Next Door,” Kendra is also a “Dancing with the Stars” alum who has also had her own solo show on E!.
Overall, what do you think about Mindy booking some non-actor types like Humphries and Wilkinson for guest spots? We want to hear some of your thoughts below! Meanwhile, be sure to visit the link here if you want to see if Franco could be back for more.
