‘Real Housewives of New Jersey’ preview: Jacqueline Laurita vs. the rumor patrol
Is Penny suddenly the town gossip on “The Real Housewives of New Jersey“? This woman seems to constantly find herself at the center of all sorts of drama, whether it be with Melissa Gorga, Teresa Giudice, and in this case Jacqueline Laurita.
We can understand why Jacqueline is as upset as she is in the sneak peek below: She has heard the nasty rumors that someone is saying pretty terrible things about her son not having autism, which is really code for “you’re just making it up to get attention for yourself.” Understandable, Jacqueline shifts into confrontation mode, while Penny seems firmly entrenched in the strategy known as “deny, deny, deny.”
It’s ultimately a “he said, she said” battle when it comes to this sort of thing on the show, and to be honest, it’s pretty hard to even care about who said it. What really matters here more than anything else is that the show gets there little argument, and Jacqueline is able to care for her son. What is frustrating most as a viewer at this point is that the entire story behind this show is at this point more or less becoming the following:
1. Person X finding out about a rumor that Y started with Z.
2. Person X finding out about Y’s exploits courtesy of a conversation with Z.
3. Person X confronting Y about it, and Y trying to throw Z under the bus.
4. Rinse and repeat 200 times.
Things may change at times in the Garden State, but for these ladies, the drama seems to constantly stay the same, like they are stuck in some sort of vicious cycle.
