‘The Originals’ spoilers: Daniel Gillies on Elijah’s quest to unify his family

For one particular star of The CW’s “The Originals,” there is going to be quite the difficult journey ahead. Not only does Daniel Gillies’ character of Elijah have to deal with potentially trying to make Klaus into the man (or hybrid, if you prefer that term) that he desperately wants him to be, but he also has to monitor his own life and chances for survival in one heck of a dangerous world.

In the video below, Gillies explains some of what are his intentions are when it comes to the story of Elijah, and how the character really does at his heart want to see the family come together. While he does not say it, we wonder if Elijah feels a certain sort of burden with the task, and that neither Rebekah nor Klaus would be capable of getting themselves together on their own.

The issue for Elijah is going to be seeing what this burden does to him over time. During the early stages of this season, we imagine that he is going to be able to handle some of the difficulties that come along with having such a volatile family, but unless he starts to develop some sort of escape from the madness, you could end up becoming a part of it by the time that this season comes to a close.
