‘Sons of Anarchy’ season 6, episode 3 preview: The meaning of ‘Poenitentia’

Jax -When we write the title above, we mean it as something more than just a literal definition. If you are looking for that, though, here you go: “Poenitentia,” the title for next week’s “Sons of Anarchy” episode, is a Latin term, which can often refer to some sort of feeling of contrition or regret. If you wonder why this episode has such a complicated name, the easy answer is that it is much more interesting to say something complicated an in another language than just “Regret.” That takes out some of the guesswork.

So now that you know the title, ask yourself the following: What could Jax Teller and the characters in SAMCRO have to regret? This seems easy enough to answer on the surface, but this show is often much more complicated than that.

First of all, take a look at the synopsis below for a few more details:

“Jax secures a new alliance for the club while Clay makes moves inside for protection. Written by Charles Murray & Kurt Sutter; directed by Guy Ferland.”

As for the actual promo below, it really does not reveal too much of anything, save for an extremely-intense showdown between Lee Toric and Jax that feels almost like a showdown in an old west movie, except with a two-way mirror included along with a jail cell. We saw this clip during the promo last week, but the sentiment here largely remains the same … this is not going to end well for any of the parties involved.
