‘Boardwalk Empire’ season 4, episode 3 preview: First look at ‘Acres of Diamonds’

Are you ready for a little bit of travel? Next week’s “Boardwalk Empire” season 4 episode is going to take us to Tampa, and it could also potentially be one that introduces some more characters very important to the story.

The good news is that Nucky Thompson is going to have some more opportunities to expand his business in a different / exciting part of the country far away from his own base. However, there are an assortment of issues that go along with that, which include finding the right people  to trust.

“Nucky has reservations about investing in a Tampa land deal engineered by transplanted bootlegger Bill McCoy. While there, he meets speakeasy owner Sally Wheet. Valentin Narcisse books a sexy jazz singer, Daughter Maitland, to perform at the Onyx, and gauges Dunn Purnsley’s allegiance to Chalky. Willie, Eli’s son, turns to Mickey Doyle and his bootleg warehouse to elevate his social standing at college. Gillian agrees to pose as Roy Phillips’ wife to impress a possible partner. Harrow tries to bury his past, though not before taking care of some unfinished business with Emma.”

Overall, this season has gotten off to a strong start, but there is little question that the show is getting overshadowed. Maybe this will change a little bit later when “Breaking Bad” and “Dexter” are over, and the show will have an opportunity to better shine.
