‘Top Chef Masters: Battle of the Sous Chefs’ review: Who is in the finale?
Basically, it is pretty clear that the latest episode of this series is the most significant one by a mile, as the winner of this culinary showdown has the opportunity to send their master through to the finale thanks to immunity. Given that the competition now is Douglas Keane (our favorite to win), Jennifer Jasinski, David Burke, and Bryan Voltaggio, you really need that immunity given the strength of your competition. These masters instruct their sous chefs in the video below as to how to make the perfect dish, and then they hammer it out for them.
So who is the winner here? It’s none other than … Bryan! That’s right: His sous Graeme Ritchie of Volt managed to take down the other chefs with a plea on steak and potatoes, which looked so delicious that we wanted it to come flying off of our computer screen. This means that Voltaggio fans can celebrate Bryan in the finale, which is great news. He’s been an interesting guy this season in that he has been consistently strong, but never the one to take home the money in any challenges.
We also want to give some praise here to host Hugh Acheson when it comes to allowing Chris Shea (David Burke’s sous) to have a little bit of dignity after making a mistake and not getting his fish steamed enough. It was a very classy, respectful way to handle the situation, as he complimented the flavor and thanked him for his work.
