‘Ray Donovan’ episode 11 preview: A secret about Ray’s past comes out

While Ray Donovan has been able to get himself out of some particularly messy situations in the past, the ones that he will be facing on Sunday night’s new episode of the self-titled Showtime series are going to be among the worst that he has faced yet. Basically, he has the police starting to hunt him down, but he is adopting the popular battle strategy of “If I’m going down, I’m taking you with me.”

The drama during this hour is also going to be very much a family affair. While Mickey is going to remain a target in the same vein that he almost always is, the rest of the Donovan brothers could be getting themselves involved in the mess here as they start to find out some more information about him. Suffice it to say, things are going to be hitting the fan here.

As a whole, “Ray Donovan” is a show that needs that sort of “Crawl Space” episode (to make a “Breaking Bad” comparison), where people start to really take notice of the show beyond just being a very good addition to the summer TV lineup. When you are airing against other stellar competition, you need to figure out a way in which to make you stand out. While this is certainly not the easiest thing to do, we’re still confident that the folks working on this show are on their way to making it happen. We just don’t know yet if it is going to happen this season or the next.
