‘The Big Bang Theory’ season 7 spoilers: Christine Baranski returns as Leonard’s mom
While some of the parental characters we have seen on “The Big Bang Theory” (save of course for Howard’s mom, who we have barely seen) have hardly made an enormous impact, Leonard’s mother is one of the more interesting guest stars who does come back on the show from time to time. She’s an emotionally-unattached psychiatry mastermind who is extremely fascinated by Sheldon in more ways than one, and she also is about as far from nurturing as one could be with her son.
Well, we have learned now that she is going to be back for more very soon. According to TVLine, Baranski will turn up soon in a season 7 episode to potentially offer some more “sage” wisdom, though it will be via Skype (which is the same way in which she appeared back in season 5, her last appearance on the show). The reason for this technique is simply that Baranski is a series regular on “The Good Wife,” and it is rather hard for her to travel from New York City to Los Angeles during the week in order to do scenes with Johnny Galecki.
This at least means that we have another official addition to the roster of guest stars for this season. Bob Newhart has another guest spot coming up in the near future, and we are also going to be seeing multiple appearances from Kevin Sussman as the comic book store owner Stuart. (For a time last year, Sussman was actually listed as a regular.)
