‘So You Think You Can Dance’ finale review: Were Amy Yakima, Fik-Shun season 10 winners?
Last week on “So You Think You Can Dance,” we saw the remaining four dancers in Aaron Turner, Fik-Shun, Amy Yakima, and Jasmine Harper compete in what was a pretty incredible competition in order to determine what two dancers would be declared the winners; and now, after two hours and fifteen minutes (if you include the address from President Obama that was thrown into the thick of it), we are here with the full results of what transpired.
Before we get to that, we’ll just remind you that going into this, we predicted a finish of Amy and Aaron on the basis of their overall talent level this season. They have given great performance after great performance, with never a bump in the road along the way. Aaron has never even been in the bottom two.
America’s favorite guy – While we have our preference, both of these two are deserving winners. They didn’t just get here based on popularity; it was also skill, and we can’t be upset therefore about Aaron coming in second place on the night. What this does mean, though, is that there has still not been a tap-dance champion in the history of the show.
America’s favorite girl – One woman had more votes than either one of the guys, so this decision was put off until after the lengthy announcement about the winning guy was made. Since Amy got the most overall votes, does she get bragging rights as the overall winner? Also, isn’t it nice that booth Aaron and Jasmine get flowers as runners-up?
