‘So You Think You Can Dance’ finale: Aaron Turner, Amy Yakima, and President Obama?
Just a brief scheduling note for those of you tonight hoping to catch the “So You Think You Can Dance” finale airing on Fox tonight. At around 9:00 p.m. Eastern time, the show is going to be interrupted courtesy of President Obama giving a brief address from the White House. The show will continue taping in Los Angeles at the time, but the way this will work is that the show will be played back immediately after the address ends on Fox. So long as the President does not run over projections, it will end around 10:15 p.m. Eastern time. (Those of you on the West Coast don’t have to worry.)
Now, we turn to the rest of the show. Aaron Turner, Fik-Shun, Jasmine Harper, and Amy Yakima are going to find out tonight who is the winner of season 10, and Nigel Lythgoe on Twitter has described them as “very interesting.” We don’t really know if this is meant to be a tease or not, but we doubt it. It’s just Nigel being Nigel and getting us all worked up (and we love him for it).
As of this moment, the only real surprise would be if Fik-Shun ends up beating Aaron for the title, given that the latter has never been in danger, and has also been extremely likable and a great showman all season long. Plus, there’s never been a tap dancer to win, just as there has never been a tapper in the finale. The ladies could go either way, since both Amy Yakima and Jasmine Harper have been close in the voting and are also equally sensational.
