‘Graceland’ season 2 official; USA predictably renews drama from ‘White Collar’s’ Jeff Eastin
It’s now official: Jeff Eastin is never going to get any sleep again.
The creator of “White Collar” this summer decided to launch another new series in “Graceland,” and it has now been confirmed by USA that this series is going to be coming back for its second season. Meanwhile, “White Collar” season 5 premieres on the network come Thursday, October 17, and the order for this show was kept to 13 episodes mostly so that Eastin could juggle working on both shows in the hands-on way that he prefers.
In a statement, the network’s now-solo President (as Jeff Wachtel was promoted to a higher position within NBCUniversal) in Chris McCumber had the following message to share:
“We’re proud to be the home of one of the summer’s top new cable dramas and we anticipate Graceland will be a long-term player for the network.”
“Graceland” has been helped mightily by having “Burn Notice” (in its final season) as a lead-in, and it has become a pretty solid player on Thursday night. Another great thing about USA is that many of their shows can build audiences over time, and we anticipate much of the same sort of thing happening here. One of our the most-important things to note is that “Graceland” is increasing its 18-49 demographic audience by over 80% within the week following its first airing. That is a pretty impressive figure, and one only matched by a tiny handful of shows airing on broadcast TV.
The new season of “Graceland” will likely premiere again next summer, and the first-season finale airs Thursday night at 10:00 p.m. Eastern.
What do you think about this news, and do you think that this could be a staple of the network for many years to come? Be sure to share some of your thoughts below!

I watch Graceland and it is a good show, but not nearly as much fun or as interesting as White Collar. I have been concerned that White Collar might be neglected ever since Graceland was announced. Cutting Season 5 of White Collar to 13 episodes is a big blow to the fans who look forward to EVERY episode.
