‘Under the Dome’ finale spoilers: ‘Curtains,’ and who is the Monarch?
“Under the Dome” has taken a long, twisted road at times to get to the point that it is at now, but next week, CBS’ summer sensation will officially come to a close with an episode that bears with it a very appropriate name in “Curtains.” The story will come to a close for now, and then pick up later when CBS airs the show once again starting in the summer of next year. (Thankfully, they are not messing with what works and trying to move the show to a different timeslot.)
We have the first promo for the finale below, but you can also take a look at the official synopsis from CBS, which teases a major development when it comes to the identity of a very important character that has been a central mystery for some time:
“Secrets of the Dome are revealed and Big Jim is determined to put an end to Barbie once and for all. Meanwhile, Junior, Angie, Joe and Norrie discover who the Monarch is after receiving a shocking visit from a familiar face.”
CBS is certainly willing to hype this episode up to the best of their ability, making comparisons to Revelation and talking about how the end is near in the promo. Oh, and they are also sure to remind you once again that the ratings are pretty enormous.
Is there anything that you have been hoping to see on “Under the Dome” this season? Then share your thoughts below! Meanwhile, click here if you want to read our full review for tonight’s episode.

I thought this show was going to be based on the book. Now that we know there is going to be a season 2, I guess we just have another Gilligans Island on our hands. No longer interested.

This is stupid because the show has skewed from the book’s major plot line. There’s still a lot that hasn’t been covered yet, a lot of buried material that has yet to see the light of day. The show is extending the story by filling in gaps, and there is no conformation that it will extend beyond the disappearance of the dome. A show based on a book doesn’t have to end in one season. It could as well be spread over 2 or even 3. The show is great, and I’m speaking as a huge fan of the book and Mr. King himself. Don’t hate.

You attack this person for his/her grammar and that’s it. Wow. I would hate to see what would happen when someone criticizes you.
The show is awesome! I cannot wait to see what happens next week and next year! It is a very long book, I believe it is over 1,600 pages. There would be no way they could fit all of that into one season. Have patience people.
