‘The Originals’ spoilers: First look at Sebastian Roche, Daniel Gillies in flashback

Take a look -The Originals” may already have a backdoor pilot episode in its past, but it is getting a separate premiere now that will serve almost as a pilot in its own right: “Always and Forever.” This story will be a worthwhile introduction to those who don’t know the story about the first family of vampires (as we like to call them), but should also satisfy longtime fans of the show by giving a somewhat-different perspective to what we saw last spring.

One new element that will be there is the presence of more flashbacks, including the photo above of Elijah (Daniel Gillies) working alongside Mikael (Sebastian Roche), his father who is of course dead in the present timeline of the show. While it has not been released just what this story is going to be right now, we do very much dig the long, 1980s-rock-star hair that the two are sporting here.

When you are dealing with characters who are literally centuries upon centuries old, one of the things that makes “The Originals” so enticing is that you have a giant trove of stories to work with if you want to venture far enough into the past. Not only that, but you have chances to bring back characters who are no longer among the living. This could be a welcome sign for fans of Nathaniel Buzolic (Kol), who was killed off on “The Vampire Diaries,” but could appear via flashbacks in much of the same way as Mikael. Based on the constant trending topics on Twitter, we are pretty sure that the fans want to see it happen.
