‘The Newsroom’ season 2, episode 8 preview: What to expect as election night begins
Tonight’s episode of “The Newsroom” is easily the most-significant one of the season so far, mostly because we are in a position where the show is actually covering one of the biggest events to date in the 2012 Presidential election. We are curious first of all if the plan is to go into real-time again like in the excellent “News Night with Will McAvoy” from earlier this season, or at least something close to it.
While we would never want to spoil everything for all of you diehard fans out there, here are at least a few things that you can definitely expect to see taking place over the course of the hour:
1. Jim vs. Maggie? – The tension here will at least boil over to a certain extent, as Maggie may even be interested in helping someone who has been previously responsible for screwing Jim over in a pretty substantial manner.
2. Will’s job on the line – After Genoa, everyone knows that one little mistake could ruin Atlantis Cable News once and for all. Not only that, but he runs the risk of being a laughingstock tonight of the guests who show up on the program.
3. Character clashes – After spending most of the season with them wrapped up in separate stories, everyone is coming together. This is exciting news, but also potentially terrible for the people involved.
Given that this episode is a two-parter, you are not going to be getting every answer that you want here. Come back next week to see how the show really decides to say goodbye for the year.
