ABC’s ‘Scandal’: Kerry Washington joins Tina Fey, Amy Poehler as Emmy presenters

What's next? -The Emmys may or may not actually make you particularly pleased this year when it comes to who wins, but they are still seemingly trying to assemble quite the impressive array of presenters that should satisfy you in that regard.

With that in mind, just take a look at some of the names announced today. Kerry Washington, nominated for Outstanding Actress in a Drama for “Scandal,” will be presenting alongside Diahann Carroll at the big awards show come Sunday, September 22. Not only that, but she will be joined by the likes of Tina Fey and Amy Poehler, who will surely make some sort of joke about them getting confused and thinking they are at the Golden Globes instead, along with Emily Deschanel and her sister Zooey, and Allison Janney and Anna Faris, promoting the new CBS series “Mom.” This group joins Matt Damon and Michael Douglas, who were already both booked for the event.

While a number of the actors that we just mentioned are contenders for awards, Damon and Douglas may be the only two with an enormous shot at winning. Kerry, for example, has to face off against Claire Danes of “Homeland,” whereas Fey and Deschanel have the one-two punch of Lena Dunham and Julia Louis-Dreyfus in their category. It’s network TV vs. cable again, but it should not come as too big of a shock that the actual Emmys show itself is emphasizing network personalities over cable in their list so far. Only Damon and Douglas come from that side of things, and they are the sort of big-name actors that you would be foolish to say no to.
