‘Bones’ season 9 spoilers: How Booth’s ‘priest’ pal will be an asset

Take a look -

When “Bones” season 9 picks up on Fox a week from Monday, one of the pressing matters that needs to be dealt with almost right away is the mystery of what happens in regards to the Booth / Brennan wedding planning. We know right now that one of the biggest problems lying in their way is Pelant, but it could be none other than a mysterious ex-priest-turned-bartender (played by Mather Zickel) who ends up coming to the rescue. He’s an old friend to Booth, and he turns out to be a valuable counselor to the character early on.

So how does executive producer Stephen Nathan describe this role? Speaking to TVLine, he makes it very clear that Brennan is also going to benefit heavily from his presence:

“He’s a neutral party that Booth can go to and talk freely … And when Brennan finds out about him, she feels she can talk freely with him as well.”

While we know that priests are meant to keep certain secrets just that, he’s not exactly a priest anymore. Therefore, who knows if he will pass along secrets or not? We see him as a valuable player in relaying the information to Emily Deschanel’s character about why he decided not to walk down the aisle with her, and maybe he can help them find a way to get through this very complicated situation … one where there are many lives that could end up hanging in the balance.

When the dust clears, Nathan has already said to expect a pretty incredible wedding between these two characters this year. He knows what you have been waiting for, and the plan is not to shortchange you in the slightest.
