‘Law & Order: SVU’ season 15 spoilers: Mariska Hargitay, Benson’s struggle focus of new promo
When it comes to their latest promo for the upcoming 15th season of “Law & Order: SVU,” NBC is not messing around in the slightest. There may be some other stories going on with the show from an election to other cases, but the entire event that they are promoting their two-hour premiere around is the harrowing thought of seeing Olivia Benson, one of the toughest cops out there go from being the life-saver to the person in desperate need of her life being saved.
The video lays it all on the line in dramatic fashion, showing the gun to her head, and the promise of some pretty terrible things happening to her. It also features the mad scramble to try and save her, including figuring out where she is and the right way to keep her alive. It’s almost lucky in a way that she has so many other detectives who have leaned on her experience over the years; she may rely on this now in an effort to stay alive.
Given that Mariska Hargitay is a series regular, not to mention the star of the show, we have a hard time picturing a world in which the character is killed off. With that being said, we could see some major changes in her life as a result of what happens here. While she has clearly seen some horrifying things over the years in her job, it is certainly much different when these horrible things are happening to you and not someone else.
What’s your take overall on this new promo?

SVU No Go

SVU is what should be killed off. What a desperate ratings monger it has become, with poor writing/creativity. Under Warren Leight, they will do anything to get new followers (including the off-base previous casting of Mike Tyson hoping to get some of his millions of followers, to relying far too heavily on ripped from the headlines writing). And, of course, they need to do something to Olivia so they can use her/Mariska Hargitay’s newer tweenie fan following. SVU has seen much better days and really needs to go–though I don’t think it will go out with any class.

It’s a desperate ploy for ratings. The show has lost focus. It’s sad that they the legacy that it has built for years is now destroyed.

NBC missed an opportunity to bring Dect Stabler, he should’ve been involved with Rescuing Olivia Benson
