‘Supernatural’ season 9 spoilers: Gildart Jackson teases mysterious new role

What's coming up? -In our mind, there is really no escaping that Gildart Jackson is probably going to be remembered first and foremost for his take on Giles the Butler, who served as the host of ABC’s summer gem “Whodunnit?” for much of the past couple of months. (We’re still praying for an official renewal.)

But we know that you are not here to talk about a murder-mystery show. This is a “Supernatural” piece, and Jackson was cast a few weeks ago to play the part of a mysterious man named Haggerty, who has an attachment to the Men of Letters and will likely appear in flashbacks. While this role was originally suggested to be for just one episode, there is some new and very tangible evidence that the part could have a little bit of a longer life.

Where is that coming from? It’s all courtesy of Jackson himself, who said the following as a part of a new interview with Digital Spy on the subject:

“I’ve been told it might become more than an episode,. The character I’m playing is somebody who… might return … I’ve heard that on other shows and it hasn’t happened, and I’ve not heard it on shows when it has happened, [but] it’s great to be… doing this episode.”

Is there an opportunity that he could be featured alongside Jared Padalecki, Jensen Ackles, or anyone else on the cast? Jackson of course could not say, but with time travel always in play on this show to a certain degree (as we saw with “As Time Goes By” in season 8), you can never really dismiss it as a possibility.
