‘Dexter’ season 8, episode 10 preview: Deb learns about the ‘Goodbye, Miami’ plan

At some point, you knew that this conversation was going to happen. Dexter Morgan was not going to just up and leave for Argentina without at least telling his sister Deb about it first, even if he is not exactly doing the best job here of giving her much notice or giving her a say in it.

In the sneak peek below for next week’s new “Dexter” episode “Goodbye Miami” (delayed thanks to Labor Day Weekend), you can see Michael C. Hall’s character break the more-than-surprising news to her while the two are on a stroll along the beach. Is it fair to say that she is surprised by it? Definitely, and there is a copious amount of trademark Debra swear words that come out of her mouth as a result.

From her standpoint, there are an avalanche of problems that come via Dexter moving to Argentina with Hannah. For one, it’s with Hannah, and she’s infinitely worried about the idea of Harrison having to go and live out his future with two killers in a country where there is no other family to support him. Also, she has to consider the fact that she’s spent all this time trying to fix the relationship she has with her brother, only to see him suddenly take off.

From a personal standpoint, our biggest concern with this whole story is merely the notion that Dexter wants to go and live out a dream with Hannah that she originally cultivated with another man. Why would he suddenly want to go and inject himself into something like this? At the end of the day, we really don’t quite understand it.
