‘Downton Abbey’ season 4 spoilers: Joanne Froggatt teases story ahead for Anna, Bates
We are seemingly just weeks away from the premiere date for “Downton Abbey” season 4 in the United Kingdom, and this means that the wait to see some of your favorite characters back in action is almost over.
Anna certainly fits the bill as someone who is easy to root for, and she is also someone who has been through her fair share of struggles and then some over the course of the years. So are she and Mr. Bates finally going to get the happy ending that so many of us feel that they deserve? We don’t want to rain on anyone’s parade here, but it looks as though there is going to continue to be a struggle for at least a little while longer. Speaking to TV Guide, Joanna Froggatt pretty much says such when talking about where these two characters are in the beginning of the season, and where they could be by the time that the end rolls around:
“Anna and Bates start the season in a very happy place, which is lovely. But as always, there are some trials and tribulations for Anna and Bates. They never seem to have it easy, as there is for all the characters. There are interesting things that happen within the household for all of the characters. Anna is certainly affected by events.”
Froggatt also teases that we are going to see more of Anna dancing this year, but don’t expect her to suddenly bust out and become any sort of wild child on the show. The closest thing that they have to that is Lady Rose (new series regular Lily James).
Check back this weekend, as we’re going to have some new impressions of the latest season 4 trailer that premieres on ITV. If you haven’t seen the latest teaser video yet for the season, click here.
