‘How I Met Your Mother’ season 9 spoilers: ‘True Blood’s’ Anna Camp to replace Ellie Kemper

Get ready -There is a changing of the guard when it comes to at least one guest star now on “How I Met Your Mother” season 9. Originally, we were going to be seeing an appearance on the sitcom from none other than the former star of “The Office” in Ellie Kemper as Cassie, a guest at the Barney – Robin wedding that is both reportedly attractive and available. This is great news for Ted, but given that you know already that Cristin Milioti is going to be playing the Mother, you know that this relationship is not even going to work out.

Unfortunately, we are here to say that Kemper is no longer going to be assuming this role. The good news? The casting and production folks have come up with a solid replacement. According to a report from TVLine, Anna Camp, who is just coming off of a lengthy appearance on “True Blood” season 6 as the conniving and God-obsessed Sarah Newlin, will be taking on the role now.

While at first this part is going to be for just one episode, it is surely possible that it could last longer depending on how it works. After all, the entire season is geared around the same two days, and it is therefore very possible that you could see guests turn up for multiple appearances. (Many of the already-announced guests are, after all, set to recur in some capacity.)

This past year has been a rather busy one for Camp, who has also been a part of “The Mindy Project” as of late. She could return to “True Blood” based on how season 6 ended, but it will be months before we know about that.
