‘America’s Got Talent’ results: Taylor Williamson, Cami Bradley battle; One Direction performs

The full review -America’s Got Talent” has to narrow down 24 acts to 12 for the big live show in just under two weeks, and that means that we have a little bit of a case here of some acts moving forward that we did not necessarily need to see on the show anymore.

Of course, the show spent the vast majority of its time tonight hyping up the appearance of One Direction’s “Best Song Ever.” This was recorded a little earlier in the week, and the women in the audience went crazy. Basically, the way to look at this performance is that if you love One Direction, you probably loved this. Otherwise, you didn’t care.

Now, let’s move forward to the actual results of the night.

Group 1– Tone the Chiefrocca, Innovative Force, and Red Panda

No surprise here that these girls advanced. We didn’t particularly love their performance last night, but it seems like they have a huge following in their home town even though the quality last night was rather weak.

Group 2 – Jonathan Allen, Duo Resonance, and Forte

There was actually a part of us that thought America could have picked all three, but Forte was the clear choice here. The other ones? Let’s just say that we’d prefer that Duo Resonance made it over someone in the next group.

Group 3 – Angela Hoover, Taylor Williamson, and Collins Key

Were people actually booing Collins when he came up on stage? This one was obvious to us given how funny Taylor was; great talent ultimately trumps everything else … but Collins? We lost our interest in him after he basically did a variation on the same trick last night. Taylor also advanced, so you can breathe a sigh on that one.

Group 4 – Dave Fenley, Catapult Entertainment, and Cami Bradley

The moment that we saw that Cami was advanced, we realized that Dave was probably screwed despite an attempt to do something that was a little different with a Spice Girls cover. But in the end, Catapult was so incredible all season long that one off performance was not going to doom them. They’ll be back.

As for the wild card choices on the night for next week, Howard Stern is bringing back magic act Leon Etienne and Romy Low. Meanwhile, the fate of the KriStef Brothers is still to be seen.
