‘Criminal Minds’ season 9 spoilers: Check out the creepy first promo!

While some shows on CBS have teased some pretty dramatic events in their first previews over the past week or so, “Criminal Minds” is taking a very different approach for season 9, and instead seems more intent on just creeping us the (bleep) out.

There are at least a couple of moments in this video below where you may think that you are watching the latest season of “American Horror Story” or some installment of “Final Destination,” in between watching a truck about to kill someone or a woman climbing the side of a wall like some sort of bizarre, human insect. There is a method to this madness, though, and it involves the case that is going to be explored over the first two hours of the season.

While most of the story in the early going is under wraps, expect there to be opportunities early on for Hotch to show some leadership skills, as there is going to be a scramble for someone to look to as a boss in the wake of what happened at the end of last season. In between the 200th episode and some more guest stars coming aboard, there is potential here for this to be one of the most intriguing seasons yet. If you love this show, Wednesday, September 25 cannot come soon enough.
