‘The Originals’ spoilers: ‘Vampire Diaries’ alum Sebastian Roche to stage return

What's next -In case you were wanting some evidence that “The Originals” was really going to explore the past of some of the first family of vampires, you will smile ear to ear based on the following bit of news.

According to Entertainment Weekly, Sebastian Roche (“Supernatural”) will return as Mikael, the father of Klaus who was killed off on “The Vampire Diaries” following a pretty nasty stand-off. He was one of the most feared hunters in existence, and was one of the major reasons why Joseph Morgan’s character spent so much of his eternity constantly running from one place to the next.

While this is a supernatural show and we never put it past executive producer Julie Plec to revive someone, we really do not think that it is happening here. Roche will appear in an early episode this season, and we see this as a reason for fans of Nathaniel Buzolic, who played the extremely-popular character of Kol before being killed off last year, to be hopeful that he could come back someday for some flashback scenes.

Meanwhile, the site also confirms that “Supernatural” alum Todd Stashwick will recur beginning in episode 4 in the role of Father Kieran. Plec had the following to say about this part:

“Kieran is a tortured Priest with a dark past … Once a powerful and pragmatic diplomat between the humans and the various supernatural factions in New Orleans, he returns home looking for answers about a personal tragedy but finds a very different landscape than when he left.”

In other words, he should feel very much at home in this dark, twisted world. “The Originals” premieres officially on Thursday, October 3, and if you click here, you can see some of the latest videos related to the show.
