‘New Girl’ season 3 spoilers: Zooey Deschanel, Jake Johnson tease new stories (video)

Are you excited to see “New Girl” season 3? You are certainly not alone with this feeling, which is why it is quite a thrill now to present the latest preview video from Fox featuring Zooey Deschanel, Jake Johnson, and Max Greenfield.

Let’s start with what is the bad news here: There isn’t really any new footage here. Instead, what we have is the actors trying to explain all of the reasons why you should watch this season, and just how much has changed. To be fair, you do have quite a few reasons to check it out right now: Not only is Damon Wayans Jr. going to return as Coach (arguably the best character ever written out after a pilot), but Winston is going to have to get over his “badger” experience while Schmidt is forced to choose between Cece and Elizabeth. (We know that Hannah Simone is the series regular here, but isn’t anyone else out there secretly hoping that he picks Merriit Wever’s character instead?)

Production is already well underway on the season, which premieres on Tuesday, September 17 at 9:00 p.m. Eastern time. The reason for starting a week before other networks is pretty simple: Fox has a massive chunk of time off in the fall thanks to baseball playoffs, so they want to get their new shows off and running before then, that way viewers will remember them and want to come back after the final pitches are thrown in the World Series. (We know the games make Fox a ton of money, but we still hate how it messes up the schedule every year.)
