‘Psych’ season 8 spoilers: ‘Bunheads’ star Sutter Foster joins finale as…
If the “Psych” season 8 finale does end up being the end of the series, at least the producers are doing whatever they can to ensure that there is a seller group of guest stars to help usher the show off into the sunset.
According to a new report from TVLine, the latest star to come on board is “Bunheads” alum Sutton Foster, who will appear on “A Nightmare on State Street” as a middle-school teacher described as “sweet,” and who may be having some sort of romantic fling with the gym teacher.
The story of this episode follows Gus’ attempts to undergo dream therapy to deal with some night terror that he has been going through as of late, and his therapist will be played by Bruce Campbell in his first major role since “Burn Notice” stopped filming earlier this summer. Also, Tears for Fears’ Curt Smith is returning for this episode, as is Kurt Fuller and Phylicia Rashad, playing the role of Gus’ mom. James Roday is the writer behind this episode, which to us suggests that it will be both off the wall and fun.
If we had some sort of personal hope / dream about the end of “Psych,” it would be as follows: Give the show one two-hour TV movie after this one to wrap up the story. Have it be when Maggie Lawson is not filming her series “Back in the Game,” and bring together anything and everything that you have loved about the show over the years. Given that the finale this season is just a story suggested by fans, we have a hard time imagining that there will be that series-ending feel to it.
As “Psych” finishes filming, it should at least be known that no one is publicly acknowledging that this is the end; therefore, we will just have to see what lies ahead.
