“The Vampire Diaries” cast is certainly an active bunch right now when it comes to interview responses, aren’t they?
Over the weekend, we posted about what was ultimately a pretty controversial subject in Ian Somerhalder’s comments on “The Originals,” and whether or not he was really that thrilled to be losing so many great actors on this show. Now, we have some pretty funny comments via Digital Spy from Paul Wesley, all on the subject of how he really doesn’t feel like a heartthrob on the show. Instead, he has to hand that award to none other than Somerhalder and his part of Damon:
“I should be biased because I play Stefan, but I am Team Damon … But only because he’s got those pretty blue eyes, and the way he does the sexy rafter dance with his shirt off. He won me over at that point.”
If only all TV actors had the same sense of humor as Paul, the world (or at least interviews) would be a much better place.
On a more serious subject, Wesley also said something that we found to be very interesting in that he believes Rose (Lauren Cohan) was one of the most-powerful deaths on the show, even though her character was only around a short amount of time. What’s the reason for that? His simple answer is just that it was “very well done,” and the emotion behind the scenes really trumps the importance of the character … which is probably true because so many characters frequently die on this show, and we are almost de-sensitized to it by this point.
We’ll have yet another opportunity to see who lives and who dies when “The Vampire Diaries” airs on The CW starting on Thursday, October 3 at 8:00 p.m. Eastern time.
