2013 VMAs: Adam Lambert, Ariana Grande, Selena Gomez among presenters with TV ties
While you have definitely heard quite a bit of news as of late about the performers for the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards, but what about the presenters? That is something that we’re hoping to fill you in on now.
Our goal here is to point out some of the famous names that you have come to know thanks to the magic of television. After all, it gives a little bit more shape to their journey, as we saw many of them during the early stages of stardom … or at least this is when we discovered them for the first time. It’s a little bit of a different experience than hearing someone on the radio before seeing them on TV, as your first memory of them is strictly voice-only.
Adam Lambert – Was performing in various productions for years before “American Idol,” but the show / hard work after it helped to turn him into a worldwide star. (Booking confirmed via THR.)
Selena Gomez – Got her start on “Barney & Friends” before crossing over to “Wizards of Waverly Place,” and then ultimately diving strictly into feature films and music work.
Kevin Hart – A comic who has done several standup specials, hosted “Saturday Night Live,” and has done countless hosting gigs for MTV and BET. Clearly, he’s the most TV-omnipresent person of the bunch.
One Direction – Were formed on “The X Factor” UK, and exploded following their release of “What Makes You Beautiful” into worldwide superstars and teen idols.
Ariana Grande – Presenting before the show; but still, she’s a part of the list. She was best known for “Victorious” before starting a music career, and she is also the star now of Nickelodeon’s “Sam & Cat.”
Want to play this game with the performers, too? Here’s what you got:
Lady Gaga – Made a tiny cameo on “The Sopranos” years before she was a star.
Miley Cyrus – Former star of “Hannah Montana,” which remains one of the Disney Channel’s most-successful shows ever.
Justin Timberlake – Former member of “The Mickey Mouse Club” alongside Christina Aguilera and Britney Spears.
Drake – Was known in Canada for “Degrassi” before coming into his own as a rapper.
Robin Thicke – Was a judge on ABC’s pretty awful reality show “Duets” alongside Kelly Clarkson, John Legend, and Jennifer Nettles.

About time Adam Lambert got invited to the party and must say way overdue in my opinion, will be a nice change of pace to see a real artist on stage who can actually sing live and in key, imagine that in the lip synching world we currently live in…have always said talent does matter after all,a presenter this year but next time…a performer.

Maybe 30 seconds of Adam Lambert as a presenter out of hours of “others”???? OF COURSE I’ll watch–until his 30 seconds are complete.

ARIANA!!!! But it’s going to be so awkward when people realize the girl doing the ”
“pre-show” has a better voice than the ones in the real show…

I’m so thrilled that ADAM is going to be on MTV VMAs Sunday night even if only as a presenter. I’ve missed seeing him on TV & can hardly wait until this season of Glee begins. Also can’t wait until the Vegas extravaganza on Sept. 20 when ADAM will once again team up with QUEEN!! Being a Glambert is so much fun!!
