‘Mike & Molly’ season 4 spoilers: ‘The Office’ veteran lands premiere role
While we were bummed during this past season to see that Brian Baumgartner did not get an opportunity to take on a leading role, the news that we have to share now is still exciting. The former star of “The Office” has already landed himself a new guest spot, and it is playing a character that could not be any more different than Kevin Malone.
According to a report from TVLine, Baumgartner will appear in the season 4 premiere of CBS’ “Mike & Molly,” playing the part of a teachers rep who is sharp-tongued, quick to think, and works hard to try to get Molly (Melissa McCarthy) out of some sort predicament that she finds herself in. Certainly sounds different, no? We like to imagine that Kevin would only cause more trouble in a situation like this, or get up halfway through the conversation to get himself a soda from the vending machine.
The only sad part of this casting news? That there is no word yet on when “Mike & Molly” is going to premiere. The show is currently scheduled to be a midseason replacement for CBS, but we figure that it could come on the air sooner. We hardly expect new series “We Are Men” to be a big hit on Monday nights, even with the comedic stylings of Kal Penn and Tony Shalhoub. There could also be a spot open on Thursday night, depending on whether or not “The Millers” is deemed a worthy follow-up to “The Big Bang Theory.”
Do you like this casting, and do you want to see more of Baumgartner on your TV screens in the next year? As always, we want to hear some of your thoughts below!
