‘Dexter’ season 8, episode 9 preview: Dexter’s latest trouble with Hannah

When in the world does Dexter Morgan ever learn? Based on the latest sneak peek below from Sunday night’s season 8 episode “Make Your Own Kind of Music,” we are pretty sure that this answer is “never.” The guy is just going to continue to try to balance killing, Hannah, his job, and his family, and he’s going to do a pretty miserable job at it.

Really, you can blame what happened to Zach Hamilton at the end of this past episode on Dexter spending his time watching over Yvonne Strahovski’s character instead, and now that he has another suspect for the Brain Surgeon, he’s taking on her problems again. What is the problem this time? Basically, he learns that thanks to a certain U.S. Marshall, Hannah’s freedom is going to be in jeopardy. The more she is out in public, then the more that she runs the risk of getting herself in trouble.

Therefore, Dexter decides to offer himself up as a chauffeur in order to help her obtain the $500,000 that she needs in order to help her flee the country, and this is a tricky proposition in itself, given that she is still out in plain sight with him and she will have to find a way to stay incognito. The one thing that we’d be worried about if we were him is simple: Clearly, the Brain Surgeon already knows who he is, so they are capable of doing terrible things to other people that he loves. Does he really want to risk this for helping Hannah, given that we see no reason why these two could not slow it down long enough to let him take care of some other matters? That is what currently confuses us the most.
