‘So You Think You Can Dance’ interview: Tucker Knox, Jenna Johnson
Even though it may be a cliched thing to say, everyone wins in some shape or form on “So You Think You Can Dance.” When it comes to Tucker Knox and Jenna Johnson, though, there is still quite a bit to celebrate. They each made it to the top eight despite challenges with the public vote, and Tucker even overcame a pretty major injury in order to do so.
When we talked to both of the dancers today in a conference call, we chose mostly to spotlight a pair of memorable routines. For Tucker, he told us a little bit about what the reaction has been like following his incredibly-moving routine last week with Robert Roldan:
“That dance was an emotional high for me. It really hit home, and I’m still replaying it in my head right now.”
Meanwhile, we asked Jenna specifically about her routine last night with Mark Kanemura, which was one of the most innovative performances of the entire season. While she’s sad to be leaving, she is so thrilled to be saying goodbye with something she will be remembered for in the end:
“I wouldn’t have wanted to end my journey on the show any other way than doing that number, especially with Mark. I felt like the number (was one) that I was able to leave my mark (with). As sad as it is that I’m gone, I’m so happy that I got to end on such a high note last night.”
In case you want to re-live these two dances, we have them embedded below.
