‘The Mindy Project’ season 2 spoilers: Mindy Kaling, ‘Justified’s’ Timothy Olyphant reunite
We don’t know how Mindy Kaling does it, but the woman has a complete knack for getting very famous people to appear on “The Mindy Project,” despite it not being one of the highest-rated comedies out there. Following up some appearances from Bill Hader and Ed Helms on the first season, the likes of Glenn Howerton (“It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia”), James Franco, Adam Pally, and even Kim Kardashian’s ex Kris Humphries in a role as himself will be coming up for season 2.
So who is joining the world of the show next? It’s someone who, like Helms, has an experience working with Kaling already courtesy of a brief stint on “The Office”: Timothy Olyphant. According to the Los Angeles Times, the star of “Justified” will make a brief appearance early this season as a professional skateboarder in his forties (seriously) who nearly runs Mindy over in Union Square.
We don’t quite know what happens when it comes to these two together, but judging from the sheer fact that Olyphant has another show that keeps him busy for extremely long stretches of time, it is probably pretty safe to assume that things are not going to go very well at the end of the day. “Justified” season 5 premieres early next year, which means that he is going to be bogged down with production for quite a few months ahead.
What do you think about this casting? As per always, we want to hear some of your thoughts with a comment below! “The Mindy Project” season 2 is set to premiere on Fox Tuesday, September 17, and we are sure that we are going to hear plenty more news about some guest stars on the show soon.
