ABC’s ‘Scandal’ season 3 spoilers: A dangerous group lies ahead

Even when there is not much action from the standpoint of violence on “Scandal,” there is still almost always quite a bit going on. Therefore, you really have to imagine that things are going to go haywire when the new season begins.

According to a report from E! News, the show’s third episode of the season (which airs on Thursday, October 17) is going to feature a bevy of dangerous people who could be both working for and against President Fitzgerald Grant. We’re talking here about a SWAT Team, Secret Service agents, and also a sniper thrown in there for good measure.

Is Tony Goldwyn’s character really in danger of losing his life? Not necessarily, but it is pretty easy to jump to a certain dark conclusion once you look back at the characters being cast. Anytime that you see a sniper on a show about a President, it’s never a good sign, and there are definitely a number of people out there who could be interested in killing him, regardless of whether you are talking about political adversaries or even some crazy people out there who are so upset about his affair with Olivia Pope that they decide to take matters into their own hands.

Within the first two episodes of the season, we’re going to see where the love triangle of Olivia / Fitz / Mellie stands now following the reveal, and whether or not there is any sort of suspicion about the First Lady being the leak … even though we are pretty sure that she’s not. There are also some other stories to be explored, including some more backstory for our other established characters. Personally, we’re still hoping for more from Huck; as a matter of fact, we’ve already written extensively about our desire to see it happen.
