2013 Teen Choice Awards: Adam Devine crashes stage during Gabby Douglas win, speech

If there is one thing that has sadly become a tradition with awards shows lately almost as much as awards, it’s surprises during acceptance speeches. When you have so many random people so close to the stage, why in the world do you expect there not to be a little bit of chaos?

When a man came on stage during Gabby Douglas’ acceptance speech at the Teen Choice Awards tonight, we almost thought this was a reason to sound the alarm. There was something really bizarre going on here, and it could be hazardous to the people in attendance. Luckily, on this occasion the stage-crasher was none other than Adam Devine, who decided to video-bomb the speech and cause a little bit of a stir on Twitter.

For those of you wondering if it is possible that a fan could actually do that on stage, think not. There are enough security guards at these sort of shows now to be a mob, and most teens are still willing to just sit back and enjoy the show rather than cause a stir.

Devine has made photo / video-bombing into his game of choice during the show tonight, and he opted to do so on a number of occasions. Luckily, at least some of them were pretty funny, though the practice did start to become a little bit old after a while. Gabby at least managed to take what happened to her somewhat in stride, which is nice given that it could not have been easy that one of her biggest moments of this year so far was disrupted.
