ABC’s ‘Scandal’ season 3 spoilers: Can anyone save Olivia Pope?

If you were to say that the start of “Scandal” season 3 was going to be complicated, it is pretty clear to us that you would be making a very gross understatement. The entire world of this show is in many ways a cauldron of terrible things simmering and mixing together, and so far, these events have led to a very deadly concoction. Olivia’s been outed for her affair with Fitz, her father is back on the scene, and there’s still the issue of the mole out there.

While there are many ways to look at this issue, including who could be responsible for the leak (which we’ve already discussed), we’re going to do our best for now to try and simplify things. Can anyone actually save Olivia from the situation that she’s in? We know that there will be plenty of people with a vested interest in doing so, but that does not mean that they will be able to help, or that anything will go according to plan. just look at what Katie Lowes told TVLine recently for more on this:

“You know how it is on Scandal — whatever you think is going to happen is not what happens, because [creator] Shonda Rhimes is so smart. So while you would think [someone would rescue Olivia], it’s more complicated than that.”

The first episode will serve to answer some questions about the leak, but there will be many more to come after that. This entire picture is probably not going to be pieced together for some time, and trying to figure it out could end up becoming the most entertaining part of this season. Everyone loves a good mystery, at least so long as smart people are on the case.)
