‘Royal Pains’ season 5, episode 8 review: Is Boris’ nightmare finally over?
It was definitely interesting to watch Wednesday night’s “Royal Pains” episode, for one main reason: While in theory it seemed like the challenge for Hank was going to be trying to keep Boris’ cousin at bay, the story ended up being almost as much just about trying to keep Evan from wrecking everything.
The entire episode actually felt more like “Ocean’s Eleven” than what you expect from this show. Were there medical mysteries? Sure, but they were more tied into making sure that Milos was taken care of. This was a pretty complicated series of events, one that involved relying heavily on none other than Paige to actually ensure that a cover auction went down without a problem.
Did that happen? Not entirely, given that we saw Evan stumble all over himself, and nearly ruin the entire plan on more than one occasion. It was ironic in a way that what we learned through all of this was actually that this entire ordeal with Milos was just a figment of his imagination. He was violent and tried to kill thanks to some symptoms of his condition, and one that there is sadly no real cure for. Let’s just hope that he does come to realize this, and isn’t around to cause some more chaos at Shadow Pond. We like to have Boris around, but we much prefer him being able to actually wander around and be a functioning part of society. Who is with us?
There was a minor Divya storyline also thrown into this episode, just to remind you that this is still about medicine; but in the end, you need not pay much attention to it. We’re just waiting for something greater with her and Jeremiah.
