‘America’s Got Talent’ results: Did Chicago Boyz post-injury, Kenichi Ebina advance?

America's Got Talent -Before we get to actually talking about the results of tonight’s “America’s Got Talent” episode, we have an injury update concerning one of the Chicago Boyz. In proving that this show is real and accidents do unfortunately happen, one of the group broke his ankle in three places. This pretty much means that he is going to be out for the rest of the season, since there is no way that you can do flips with this sort of injury.

So now let’s get to the actual results. If there is any justice in the world, both the ‘Boyz and Kenichi Ebina will go through to the next round.

Group 1 – Leon Etienne and Romy Low, David “The Cobra Kid” Weathers, and AeroSphere

This has “no one” written all over it. These three all do bring something to the table, but we know that America loves their singers. Since none of them are the same sort of thing you can see on a million other shows, it was a given that they would all be leaving. Sad.

Group 2 – American Military Spouses Choir, Brandon & Savannah, and Kelsey & Bailey

You knew that the choir was going to get through after getting all of the hype and the drama from the past few weeks, but the show could have at least been nice enough to ease some of the waiting by not having Nick Cannon wait for a million years in his “dramatic pause.”

Group 3 – Jonathan Allen, Jim Meskimen, and Kenichi Ebina

This is a grouping that there was a reason to have some ambiguity about, mostly because you’re looking at two acts here that have a great shot at advancing. America loves singers, but Kenichi also got gigantic rounds of praise from the judges. He was put through … but so was Jonathan. Yes, we have three opera acts in the semifinals. Three. That’s a little much, don’t you think?

Group 4 – Mitsi Dancing School, Deanna DellaCloppa, and Chicago Boyz

Surprisingly, we ended up seeing Deanna being sent home, even though she did have a ton of screen time almost all season long. This left us with an interesting dilemma: Do you keep the stronger act of the two, or the one without an injury? The Chicago Boyz were eventually put through, though, making them a gamble that was well worth taking by the judges.
