‘Real Housewives of New Jersey’: Caroline Manzo explains silence on Teresa Giudice
As anyone who follows the “Real Housewives of New Jersey” closely knows, it has become tradition in a way to see the ladies trying to say almost anything and everything online as a means of getting attention. They know that feuds and controversial comments lead to headlines, and in turn, lead to them making more money.
However, you have likely noticed that the ladies have chosen to stay pretty quiet on the subject of Teresa Giudice, and an indictment in federal court that could cause her and her husband Joe to face a bevy of major consequences. They have been charged with a variety of fraud-related charges, including allegedly not filing their earnings from the Bravo series.
Caroline appeared on “Watch What Happens Live!” Sunday night, and was asked by Andy Cohen if she had spoken to Teresa in the past couple of weeks. She explained that the two had exchanged texts, but declined to reveal the subject matter. She also said why she is choosing now as the time to clam up about a serious subject:
“I can’t even wrap my head around it. It’s unexpected. This is a big deal. I think for us, the housewives, we always comment on trivial things, and I think for me, the Manzos, our position is going to stay quiet. It’s just too big and too serious for the peanut gallery. I’m just going to leave it at that.”
Teresa’s future on the series could come to a grinding halt if she ends up being sent to prison over these charges, or if her husband, who is not a United States citizen, is deported. This will be something we will have to watch in the coming weeks.
