ABC’s ‘Scandal’ season 3 spoilers: Some hints about premiere, Cyrus and James

We know that October 3 is still a rather long time away, and if you are a fan of ABC’s “Scandal,” this probably makes things even more insufferable. You just want the show to be back already, and yet you are still sitting around and trying to imagine with your friends whether or not Olivia Pope is going to have her head explode with the news that her affair with Fitz is out there and public. After all, this is not exactly something that is easy to think about or deal with.

While we don’t have any major details on that (mostly because Shonda Rhimes has shut the gates on that very tightly), we can at least dish a few details on another subject: Whether or not Cyrus and James are in a terrible place at the time of the premiere. Speaking to TVLine, Dan Bucatinsky claims that the couple is in a “good place,” and he also has a more general tease of what he thought of reading the season premiere script:

“[The season premiere] will feel seamless in terms of giving people exactly what they love about Scandal … We come back and relationships are just as rich, and just as surprising, and just as tense. That’s what I noticed about the first script.”

One other relationship that we’re stoked to see? Olivia and her father, mostly because to this point, it has been teased just as much as Olivia wearing darkly-colored clothing.
